Plant operations and control require the appropriate design and implementation of basic (Level-1) automation systems based on instrumentation, PLCs , DCSs ,SCADA systems, drives and electrics and process optimization systems (Level-2). It also requires the appropriate integration and software strategies with higher level systems. Upgradation strategies will require the need to understand the new instrumentation and automation requirements, the gap and the migration and implementation plan.
